The LORD is My Banner

And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The LORD Is My Banner, (Exodus 17:15).
Jehovah Nissi. This name refers to the power of God, His protection over His people, and His victory in the battle. This name unifies all believers under His sovereignty. Not only do we have His signature on our lives, but He announces to the world that we belong to His family.
Whether by blood or circumstance, we are connected to people. Our earthly relationships with family, friends, and the community can be loving or challenging; however, God’s banner over our lives supersedes all other relationships. When we are surrendered to our Heavenly Father, the tie that binds us together is Him. We are united in Him and under Him. His flag represents His love for us and declares to the world that He is fighting on our behalf.
Who we are matters. Whose we are matters even more! When we are on the battlefield of life, we need to proclaim Jehovah Nissi to our enemy! We may be in the battle, but the fight and victory are His! Our weapon against the enemy is the Sword of the Spirit, given to us through His Word. Standing firm on the Rock of our Salvation, we rely on our faith and proclaim, “The LORD Is My Banner!”
Whatever challenges we face today, let’s remember our Jehovah Nissi. He reigns over all. The victory is His. Let’s claim that together!
Prayer: Father, You sent Your Son to overcome the world. You delivered us from evil and proclaimed Your banner over our lives. May we grip Your hand as we walk through life’s challenges together. Help us to remember that we belong to You. Remind us of Your presence and love, sending others to walk in the Full Armor of God alongside us. You are our Champion! Thank you for always being present in our lives. We love You, Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
