Rerouted
Updated: Sep 16

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
The destination is set. The time is calculated. The course is determined.
Traveling down the path we've established, we find the road twisting and turning, entrances barricaded and exits blocked, detour signs pointing us in directions that feel off course. One moment we’re coasting along, then suddenly, we’ve been rerouted.
Being rerouted in life is unpredictable. The altered plan is difficult to adapt to and accept. The plans we’ve pursued feel unclear and confusing. But being rerouted is a way for God to get our attention and reestablish our purpose. The redirection can be God’s way of guarding and growing us. Many are the plans in a person’s heart. When we make plans for our lives without yielding to God’s Will, we assume that we know what is best. The beauty of surrendering our plans for His is that we acknowledge His sovereignty over our lives. We relinquish control and trust that He has our best interests at heart. He sees what our future holds and knows where our paths lead.
Planning is an important process in life. Let's ask God to show us the next right step so that our plans align with His plans for us. Let's do it together!
…but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are omniscient over all. I pray that I seek you first as I make plans for my life. May my plans align with Yours so that Your purpose prevails and I glorify you with my life. Grant me clarity and understanding as I step into doing the next right thing. I thank you for your presence in all circumstances and for working on my behalf. May I revel in the knowledge of your love for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
